Info

Ludwig van Beethoven composed his Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61, in 1806. Its first performance by Franz Clement was unsuccessful and for some decades the work languished in obscurity, until revived in 1844 by Joseph Joachim. Since then it has become one of the best-known violin concertos. Beethoven had previously written a number of pieces for violin and orchestra. At some point in 17902, before his musical maturity, he began a Violin Concerto in C, of which only a fragment of the first. Beethoven Violin Concerto In D Major, LP, Album, Mono, RM. Аккорд, Аккорд. Marad
There is a sense of relaxation within the confines of this monaural recording. The history of the Concert Hall Society shows that each recording would only have 2,000 pressings, and therefore would be a priceless treasure. To be sure, David Oistrakh's performance here is priceless. The Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra is titled the State Orchestra of the USSR, and is at once licensed to the United States as an official recording via Leed Music Corporation. What transpires through the entire performance is a flawless run through Beethoven's hastily finished concerto. What truly makes this special is the last movement, the Rondo titled Allegro. The finale is in 6/8 time, but there exists no sense of urgency to rush the end. It merely sits at the base of your senses and stirs inner memories and emotions towards the end. One more thing to listen for is the Larghetto, a sinewy movement that doesn't grate on the nerves. There is little repetition of theme, but each section has its piece that blend gracefully with Oistrakh's touch. The LP is mono and predates the current CD release by a few years. It is assumed here that this LP vinyl release date is 1953, while the stereo version dates to 1961. Well worth purchasing, if the LP is in good shape.
