The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste is the fourth studio album by American industrial metal band Ministry, released on November 14, 1989 by Sire Records. The music took a more hardcore, aggressively guitar-driven direction, with Jourgensen inspired by Stormtroopers of Death and Rigor Mortis to add thrash metal guitars to the album and subsequent Ministry releases. As with most of Ministry's work, the album's lyrics deal mainly with political corruption, cultural violence, environmental degradation. The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste - Ministry. Completa tu colección de not their best-selling album that goes to Psalm 69, The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste still went gold and cemented Ministry as a force to be reckoned with for twenty more years. The greatest strength of this album is in Jourgensens ability to meld metal aggression with samples, and knowing just how to layer each and every piece. Nothing is just thrown in, it seems as if every sample, every riff was meticulously arranged for the exact spot it is in every song. Whether it is R. My copy is fantastic. No skips like others have reported. Really great sound. Love that it has the Dream Song on it unlike the original vinyl release
My copy was bought new on Amazon and it skips on B2 - So What. Very frustrating because the sound is pretty amazing. I already have an original sealed promo of this album but I may just pony up the cash for another copy at some point.
grand star
I would contact MOV and demand a replacement copy. New records @ 20+ should look and play flawlessly. My With Sympathy MOV release has 0 issues. Sounds amazing as well.
Just had to return a copy bought from Amazon.B2 skips, didn't bother checking if B4 skips like others have said.Have returned.Shame it sounded great.
Can't understand why all y'all buy that Amoazon crap. I never bought anything from them. They pay no taxes, have almost no human workers. In the storehouse are only machines as pallet transporters not run by humans. The few people Amazon has ar forced to work very fast and hard for under the minimum wage.. This whole company sucks. I was selling a few years ago via them parts of my Blu-Ray and Dvd Collection. They wantd me to register as an official seller and pay more than I earned a month. They have chadp stuff but that's not all good stuff and often very wrong explained in article descriptions. Say 180g or gatefold if it's not, or uncut (movies) which aren't and so on. CAn't stand them cause these giant corporations kill the REAL VINYL SHOPS because they sell cheaper cause they order more. Don' suppot such behaviour. Can't you remember when good record shops were the regular? You could go there, ask question and hold it in your hands. They can't stand a chance vs such a giant. No support for monopolic slavery!! Hopefully you think different when it's the only store left!
No problems with mine. Another high quality pressing from Music on Vinyl.
New and skips on B2 (it was sealed). Don't buy this.
Mine also skips on So What (B2) and I bought sealed copy. Crappy stuff...
also just got a new copy of this.... no skips or pops on my copy, sound is amazing
As usual with Music on Vinyl, pretty much flawless reissue: great dynamic range, close to surface noise, quality printing for the artwork and insert... Really great.
I have a brand new copy of this that skips on B2 and B4. Frustrating beyond measure.
Try playing the record with a needle that is best used with at least 2.5g tracking force. You will not have skips, but pops. After 2-3 playtroughs, those pops will be gone.I had a scracth on A1 that caused pops trough the song, but my Denon DL-103 sort it all out after 2 playtroughs.Clean sound and zero surface noise.
My copy was pretty damned good and clean. It sounds good!
well, i am not sure if it is just me or happened to other people. i have got this 2014 music on vinyl edition LP.when i got the copy, palyer skipepd 2 tiems on B 2. and noticed slight scratch on vinyl. sicne i bought it as brand new, sent it back to seller and got replacement. skipped again, on same song, and also noticed slight scratch around same area as i have noticed on first copy. never had such situation before, and i wonder what really caused the scratch. (maybe problem on Mold they used??)
Had similar problem - scratch on begging of side two. Got replacement, now is perfectly fine. Great reissue.
Looks like a new repress just came out on this label:
Snake Rocking
No, a lot of collectors will tell you the same story as me. Not sure what you are talking about.
Unfortunately, vinyl reissues are always a bit of a crap shoot -- often times they can turn out poorly pressed. I will say I'm surprised here as MOV is one of the best repressers out there. I'm guessing you were an unlucky exception to the norm.
At Least we can do research on releases now with the internet, back in the 60/70s I had to pray I was getting a non-defective copy and trust me vinyl came with just as many issues as today.
Thank you for posting on the quality of the pressing. I have been burned soooo many times by crappy vinyl re-releases.
I don't have that problem...
Good to know, thanks again for the info.
Adding one mroe Info to cover. after I have returned the copy (MOV) to amazon, i ended up buying used Lp of this Album on E bay. I think UK press of the album. Coomparing the cover of Original Uk pressing and MOV version, MOV version cover got thicker(solider) paper for cover. for that reason, i would say MOV version cover is better.
Possibly it was a bad batch. Hopefully it will be fixed by the time I purchase my copy. Glad to hear the cover art is great quality. Thanx
i did not notice any problem on cover aer quality, like if it was the original release. slight scratch which has caused skip on side B 2 ( track: so what).by the way, i have purchased the copy of this Lp from amazon, and Amazon took return first copy i sent them back and sent me replacement, and i sent 2nd copy back to them for same reason, and they gave me a refund.
That"s odd, usually MOV release great vinyls but sometimes things happen, I'm worried about purchasing a copy now. And BTW how is the album art quality? Is it nice and clear or does it Look Like a poorly upscaled scan of the original cover art?
