Guys, please tell me some reviews, how does it sounds this edition's vinyls? Is it a good MOV-ish quality pressing? Any experiences?
Shaktizragore
Decent sound quality but low on level.Great vocals and drums but not so deep bass.It is ok.
from earth
Hi hope this helpsIf your buying the LP the 2017 pressing is the remastered for vinyl one and I’ve been told the US is superior to the Eu release. If your buying the CD you can get the original for peanuts. Is it available on cassette because if you’ve a good quality player with at least Dolby C I’d think that would be sweet.
ladushka
Overall good sound. Haven't heard the original or any other version. Sounds decent and balanced. Got some popping on last song on A side.
Muniath
Returned the first one because it popped more than a bag of popcorn. 2nd one only slightly better. QC sucks
skriper
Record had much static so it was hard pull out of the sleeve but it sounds great
Grinin
I can say that this pressing sounds great. I had the original 1994 US release and purchased this to compare. They sound almost identical with the original only sounding only ever so slightly better. I have since sold my original and kept this reissue as my collection “go to”.
Tegore
This is one of those ones where you think "it's not how I remember the CD sounding, when I was a teenager in the 90s." Sometimes in a good way, sometimes in a bad way. The quality of the pressing is fine, mine had just a little bit of noise at the end of side A. The CD came out in 1991, and the first vinyl came out in 1994 in the U.S. (although earlier elsewhere, is my understanding.) Still a great album, the question is just which format is closer to what Pearl Jam was actually hearing when they recorded this. As others here have noted, the CD might be truer to the "original." That whole period was a black hole for vinyl, and a lot of my favourite records were only available on CD. But experiencing Ten on vinyl was still great. Would have been nice with some more album notes, to give context. The lyrics are printed on the inner sleeve but they're almost illegible. Great that they reissued it, not expensive... worth having for sure.
sobolica
Pressing here is good, quiet and solid. But as far as sound quality goes, the original cd sounds better. More crisp and airy, livelier. This vinyl version sounds a bit muddy and flat.
Agalen
Same feelings! I was very disappointed when I was listening this first time. I believe it is due 53 min running time and maybe also laucquer cutting! I also would rather listen the cd version instead.
Zeus Wooden
Ive been hearing this is a digital recording? Pressed from CD Mastering?
Anen
It's not a digital recording, but the vinyl are likely cut from the 16/44.1 DAT stereo master. When this was mixed it was mixed to both 16-bit DAT and 1/2" analogue tape, so the potential is there to do a proper all analogue cut but of course Pearl Jam don't care about the execution of vinyl, just the idea of it. This is why to date not a single all analogue vinyl release exists and most of their albums suffer from heavy-handed dynamic range compression, including their vinyl releases. The best you'll get for "Ten", until they license a specialty label to do a proper release, is the original CD in my opinion. This new single LP of the original mix has the same matrices as the redux LP in the 2009 sets, according to someone on the 10 Club forums.
Livina
The Original US press was cut from essentially a cd 16/44.1 in house by Sony at the time which was par for the course. The newest issue, completely destroys the redux 2lp version which sounds flat and terrible. Fortunately this version sounds closer to the original US pressing than I have heard yet.
