I remember Rhinoceros as being an early attempt by Elektra to construct (contrive?) a 'supergroup'. This album is hit and miss. The musicianship is excellent, and the white boy soul of 'I Need Love' and 'When You Say You're Sorry' works quite well. "I Will Serenade You" has become a mini-classic of sorts. But 'That Time of the Year', 'I've Been There' and 'Along Comes Tomorrow' seem to suffer from 'art rock' conceits and although executed perfectly are not so compelling today.
