Info

When I Get Home is the fourth studio album by American singer and songwriter Solange, released on March 1, 2019. It is the follow-up to her 2016 album A Seat at the Table and explores Solange Knowles' hometown of Houston, Texas. Knowles produced the album alongside a variety of collaborators, including John Key, John Carrol Kirby, Standing on the Corner, Chassol, Jamire Williams and Pharrell Williams. Its first US release was on the Something New LP. Influenced somewhat by the Shirelles, When I Get Home is essentially a rock and roll number, but with unusual chord progressions. Lennon liked this particular ploy, and used it on many of his songs at the time. Trouble in My Home. Joe Simon. When I Get Home is a challenging and satisfying follow-up to A Seat at the Table, one that will probably baffle some fans but intrigue and engage even more. Is it Solanges First Finale Hopefully so - because if the Wonder parallel holds, that means her Songs in the Key of Life is up next. Album Review: Solanges When I Get Home. Production: Crew . Even when the When I Get Home tracklist is stacked, the individual voices arent always awarded the spotlight. Often times, the features sound like theyre intended to blend in with the track-meaning that the artists here might have internalized Solanges new philosophy of taking yourself away as subject and checked their egos at the door. Together, the two chatted about their mutual love for Tierra Whack before Earl invited Standing on the Corners Shamel Cee Mystery aka Gio Escobar to the program. The episode actually predicted a lot about how both Solanges When I Get Home and Earl Sweatshirts latest album, Some Rap Songs, would sound. Текст песни: Trouble in mind, babe, Im blue But I wont be blue always Yes, the sun gonna shine In my back door I Get Home pays homage to Solanges Texas roots. Its not just the title of Solanges new album that honors her Houston, Texas, roots. The message that Texas is home is especially felt when Solange touches on the personal. Solange released When I Get Home, her fourth full-length album, on Thursday night. The 19-track collection is her first since 2016s A Seat at the Table, and it includes contributions from Metro Boomin, Pharrell, Earl Sweatshirt, Tyler, the Creator, Playboi Carti and more. Solange hinted at the release of When I Get Home earlier this week by revealing a new BlackPlanet page. Its been three years since Solange released A Seat at the Table, her commercial breakthrough: The album sold the equivalent of 72,000 copies opening week, delivering the singer her first Number One on the Billboard 200. When I Get Home is Solanges fourth studio album, released on March 1, 2019. The album is a love-letter to Solanges home town, Houston, Texas, and is narrated by various African-American women whom she grew up with. The album is a mixture of R&B, the Houston style of chopped and screwed hip-hop, and cosmic jazz. When I Get Home features a wide range of collaborators including big names such as Pharrell and Tyler, the Creator, underground artists such as ABRA and Standing on the Corner and even experimental pop artist Panda Bear of Animal Collective fame. When I Get Home is built for gentle, repeated immersion, not instant gratification. Its tracks prize mantras over hooks, and wander in structure and tempo, taking improvisational tangents. Although the album is punctuated by spoken-word interludes - bits of poetry, self-help, comedy and tribute - it is designed to flow as a whole, gradually infusing a room like incense or the smells of home cooking. The opening song, Things I Imagined, makes clear that Solange is offering floaters, not bangers. She sings, I saw things I imagined more than a dozen times, repeating the line or parts of it
